PROJECT PROFILE

Project Details
Client: State Bank of India, Gujarat
Built up Area: 10,000 sq m

State Bank of India commissioned HCPDPM to design its head office in the old city area of Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The building was planned and executed in phases keeping in view the specific requirements for a head office of Gujarat. This is the first high-rise building of Ahmedabad and the design is conceptualized as a fusion of podium and tower. The podium houses the banking facilities on the ground and the mezzanine floors. A skip floor which takes in the canteen separates the tower from the podium. Structurally the ribbed RCC floors are designed as balanced cantilevers of 15 ft with a central span of 45 ft. Exposed RCC rib construction has been adopted for typical floors. As the orientation of the tower is East-west, double paneled precast exposed RCC. Facade is used, to protect the inner spaces from heat and rain. The central air conditioning system is designed with special care to avoid spread of fire from floor to floor.
