PROJECT PROFILE

Project Details
Client: Pandit Deendayal Petroleum
University, Gandhinagar
Built up Area: 55,000 sq mts

Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University was established by Gujarat Energy Research Management Institute (GERMI) and promoted by Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation (GSPC) as a world class university in energy education and research with special focus on the oil and gas sector. HCPDPM was commissioned to design the campus spread over 50 acres and built up area of 50,000 sq m. The university is to be constructed in many phases, where only the Phase-1 and 2 have so far been completed. These include the buildings and necessary infrastructure facilities for the Institute of Petroleum Management (IPMG) and Institute of Petroleum Technology (IPTG) like lecture halls, tutorial rooms, laboratories, library & reading room, computer labs, board room, lounge, medical room, examination room and workshops. Presently additional undergraduate hostels, seminar halls and academic auditorium are under construction. The major design criteria were that all areas have enough daylight, but avoid direct sunlight. A combination of Kota and Jaisalmer stone has been used as flooring and all large existing trees have been incorporated into the buildings courtyards. The ramp and staircase of the IPMG building is a significant fašade element. HCPDPM has appointed M/s. Jhaveri Associates as their services Consultants.
