The brief was to build a house that would maintain the essence of a joint family giving everyone their privacy. The house with an ‘L’ shaped plan sits on a plot measuring 1,715 sq m and has large verandahs and connecting corridors overlooking a well landscaped garden. The house also features an out-house on the other side of the square for recreational activities. The living area is a double height space lighted by natural diffused light from the skylights and the large glass windows and louvered panels. The house is a load bearing structure and built with exposed brick and exposed concrete.
